U & EYE

Seeing from a different point of view; 3D digital craft eyewear design

Whenever we want wherever we are, even on lockdown, in less than an hour and we design our own custom-made eyewear.

Corona virus reveals a new trend in which individuals become their own manufacturer during lockdown. My eyewear project is created using a consumer grade FDM 3D home Printer.

The glasses are made of strong and flexible material that allows stability on the nose without the use of handles. The innovative printed eyeglass series includes various forms, colors and packaging that fits in with its shape to the eyeglass frame and creates minimalist storage by utilizing the flexibility of the material. The source files were optimized for minimal use of material and shortest print time. The Material efficiency and light-weight, the reducing balance depreciation, the availability, the variety of designs and existing accessibility which allows everyone to print it in his own home, allowed me as a designer not only to take exclusivity, but to take part in a larger dialogue in our shared environment and creating a new connection which allows the designer to take part in the entire design manufacturing chain. It highlights the vital role of design in creating new ways for a world where most people live in crowded cities, and the need to redefine ecological coexistence.

Together we will create a zero-waste and custom-made eyewear.
